I spent most of this week cutting paper during my free time. I got all my paper cut with the exception of two packs that are more specialty and will be used differently. I have no excuse to buy more paper. My goal is to only buy needed cardstock as I need it until my design paper is gone.
The top card is based on the Midweek challenge at Operation Write Home. I tried something new for me. Inking the background paper. The challenge was to use Kraft/tan-blue-green on a card. So I inked some craft paper with blue and green using a stamp I got from Donna H at Designing Keepsakes. I kept it simple with a ribbon, charm and bling.
The second card is for the Sunday Sketch 109. This challenge is sponsored by Doodle Pantry. They have the cutest images. The cardstock and dp is from Colorbok. The flowers are from Stamping Up. I also got these from Donna H. I used the transfer in white on blackcard stock and trimmed to make a matching embellishment. I added red bling for a touch of color. I was thinking the You're the best would be for some Mother's Day cards. I have paper that Mom printed in the design area. This could work for Mother's day or a friend. I really like the black and white card. I will have to find a similar image to use to make more cards like this for OWH and myself.
I can already see how the paper cut and organized makes it so much easier to find a design paper to use. Also makes it easier to focus on the card elements. Also I don't have to clean up after cutting the paper constantly.
Happy Crafting!
Holly, I really love both of these cards. I love the stamped kraft on your first card and your ribbon is a beautiful shade of blue. Your second card is just stunning and the red really pops. I'm so glad you are finding uses for your "candy". that makes me feel so good. Have a great week.

ReplyDeleteHi Holly! I like both of your cards. Love the black & white for the sketch challenge. I also like how the color challenge card came out. The stamped flowers look great and that ribbon is such a sumptuous color of blue. Thanks for playing in our Midweek Throwdown Challenge at Operation Write Home Stars & Stamps!

ReplyDeleteWonderful cards Holly. I love your idea about using what DP you have before buying more DP -- I think I am going to follow your lead on that. My favorite is the black and white -- I love the touch of red bling. TFS
ReplyDeleteI love your black and white card. Very sophisticated.
